DARcorporation NASA SBIR Project Identified as Exemplary by the Department of Defense
In 1995 Design, Analysis and Research Corporation received its first SBIR Phase I contract from NASA. It led to a Phase II project and was featured as a success story by NASA. On January 27, 2015, the DoD SBIR/STTR Program identified this same project as being one of exemplary commercialization. Over time the developed "Personal Computer Aided Design System for General Aviation Aircraft Configurations" was merged with the Advanced Aircraft Analysis (AAA) software and the geometry tools became part of Shark FX/AeroPack. It has created jobs and generated tax revenue, sufficient to pay back all SBIR funding received on this project.
The Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) Program encourages domestic small businesses (less than 500 employees, not university affiliated, student or professor owned) to engage in Federal Research/Research and Development (R/R&D) that has the potential for commercialization.
